Chairman 2026 Wrap Up

Last Saturday, the Eastwood Rugby Club community gathered at Dockside, Darling Harbour to celebrate the 2026 season. Players, families, coaches, volunteers, sponsors, supporters and members in attendance, it was a fitting way to recognise a year that will be remembered as one of the most important in the Club’s history.

While we congratulate all award winners, this season was about much more than results on the field.

2026 marked the successful coming together of our Junior and Senior Clubs, creating a united Eastwood Rugby Club (Woods Rugby) with a clear pathway from schools and juniors through to Colts and Grade. This alignment has strengthened our culture, enhanced player development opportunities and unified our community behind one vision for the future.

A key part of this transformation has been the appointment of dedicated staff and leaders across School Development, Juniors, Colts, Grade, and Commercial Management. These investments are building a stronger club, creating greater connectivity across our programs and ensuring Woods Rugby is well positioned for sustained success.

To our players, thank you for wearing the Woodies jersey with pride and representing the Club with commitment and character.

To our coaches, managers, medical staff, volunteers and support teams, your contribution is the foundation of everything we achieve. The success of Eastwood Rugby depends on your dedication, and we are incredibly grateful for the time and energy you invest every season.

To our sponsors, members, families, supporters and past players, thank you for your unwavering support. Your commitment to Eastwood Rugby helps make our Club one of the strongest rugby communities in Australia.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who has embraced our vision of one club. The momentum created this year is significant. With stronger pathways, outstanding people and a united community, we are entering 2027 with confidence, ambition and excitement.

The future is bright at Woods Rugby - something special is building!
