RIP Frank Vickress

Older Club members will be saddened to hear of the passing of Frank Vickress, one of the “Originals” who played in the opening games of the Club’s introduction to the Shute Shield competition in 1947.

Frank, a five eighth, was described by his 1953 captain and current Life Member John Cullen, as “resembled Phar Lap: a big heart, a good head, and carried excess weight – also knew how to serve his centres”.

He will be sorely missed.
