Appointment of Colts Co-Coaches

The Woods are proud to announce the appointment of Craig Roberts and Tristan Jones as Co-Coaches of the Eastwood Colts Programme, marking a significant investment in the future of the club’s player development pathway.
Between them, Craig and Tristan bring more than 40 years of coaching and leadership experience across club, school and representative rugby. Both are Rugby Australia Level 3 accredited coaches with extensive experience in developing young players and building high-performance environments.
Craig Roberts joins Eastwood after coaching with the Manly Marlins First Grade, the NSW Waratahs Academy, NSW Schools, CAS Rugby, Barker College and Warringah Colts. Widely respected for his work in talent identification, coach development and programme leadership, Craig has consistently built environments that prepare players to progress from junior rugby through to senior representative and premier grade competitions.
Joining him is Tristan Jones, Head of Sport at Hills Grammar, who has enjoyed remarkable success across school, representative and club rugby. Tristan has led the Waratahs Under 16 Academy to back-to-back Super Rugby Championship titles, coached Hornsby Rugby to a premiership and grand final appearance, and held representative roles with AICES, NSW Country, Gen Blue and CIS pathways. His background in education and athlete development complements Craig’s expertise, creating a coaching partnership with an outstanding balance of technical knowledge, leadership and player care.
Together, Craig and Tristan will lead the Eastwood Colts programme with a shared vision of establishing one of Australia’s premier development pathways. Their combined experience in elite coaching, talent development and programme management will strengthen the connection between junior rugby, Colts and Shute Shield, ensuring Eastwood continues to develop outstanding players and even better people.
Their appointment reflects the club’s long-term commitment to investing in its future and building a Colts programme capable of sustained success on and off the field.
