Woods Rugby is very pleased to announce the appointment of Max Miller as the new development officer looking after North West Sydney
Max played for the Woodies a few years ago before an ankle reconstruction unfortunately sidelined him, so he is already familiar with the Club environment and community. There was huge interest in this position and a very large number of high quality applications- commiserations to those who missed out - it was a close run thing. Our Board Member Martin Halmarick was involved in the selection process and is very keen to see Max start work . Max has been working with NSW Rugby for the past 3 years so is very familiar with how the system and people operate
This appointment is a continuation of our Club’s strong commitment to development of the game in our District. We started a formal process of engagement with the North West some 8 years ago now and the program has gone from strength to strength. Our commitment is to provide a clear pathway from Mini Rugby, Junior Rugby, Pathways to Colts, Grade and to NSW Super Rugby.
This particular appointment breaks new ground for Woods Rugby and for NSW Rugby. For the first time, this position will be a joint effort from both bodies - taking advantage of NSW Rugby's scale, infrastructure and experience and adding on the Woods local knowledge and deep involvement with our community
Mark Green, Manager Community Rugby at NSW Rugby said..
We are very pleased to commence this partnership with the Woods to help grow rugby in the Northwest .
This kind of partnership is one that I hope might be taken up by other Districts in the future
It's an exciting time for rugby with the World Cup coming up next year and we're looking forward to seeing this new position up and running to build on the momentum from one of the world's premier sporting events
Max started work today - we look forward to seeing the results of his work
